The fun never stops in Vegas

Las Vegas is a melting pot of tourists aiming for earthly pleasures and amusement and is probably one of the most visited cities in the world, receiving approximately 40 million visitors each year. Known as the “Sin City” and the “Entertainment Capital of the World”, this is the place where you can do almost anything and everything – eat, drink, gamble, bar hop, shop ‘till you drop, enjoy a good variety of shows and concerts, play a round of golf, witness an art performance, zip line, sky jump, watch a sports event, check on a museum, enjoy a luxurious moment at one of the posh hotels, and yes, even tie the knot. All these and more…

The Strip is the most famous among all Vegas attractions and is best explored at night. It’s a 3.5 mile stretch of flashy hotels and casinos, bars and restaurants and the most dazzling, most radiant, most colorful and brightest lights you’ll ever see.

The charming Fountains of the Bellagio Hotel features a unique choreographed aquatic performance, backed by music and lights that visitors can enjoy every night. It’s quite a romantic scene and best appreciated with your significant other by your side. The show runs on schedule, usually every 30 or 15 minutes, depending on time and day.

Cirque du Soleil, the entertainment company famous for its breathtaking acrobatic shows has exhibited a constant presence in the city, offering a variety of exhilarating performances guaranteed to blow your mind. Be sure to catch one, if planning a visit.

Enjoy a 360 degree view of the beautiful skyline through the giant High Roller observation wheel that will take you on a 30 minute spin ride, 550 ft above the strip. The giant wheel located at the LINQ Promenade, offers happy hour cabins that include an open bar and a bartender and can accommodate up to 25 guests aged 21 and above. The LINQ Promenade is open 24/7 providing attractions, activities, food, entertainment and more. One recently added attraction is the FLYLINQ, a part of the LINQ Hotel and the only zipline at the strip. It glides over the promenade, starting from Las Vegas Boulevard and ends at the LINQ High Roller.

Take time to go hotel hopping and feast your eyes with glamorously and lavishly decorated hotel lobbies. Top 6 on my list would be Wynn, Bellagio, Aria, Caesars Palace, The Venetian and The Palazzo.

A trip to Vegas is like going on a multi-city journey without having to travel multiple times. You get a sneak preview of some of the world’s well known cities through a replica of their famous landmarks, like the Rialto Bridge and gondola rides at the Venice Canals, New York’s Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty, Rome’s Fontana Di Trevi and the Roman Forum, the Pyramids of Egypt at Cairo and the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe of Paris.

Take a detour north off the strip to downtown Vegas in Freemont Street and experience non-stop fun, food and entertainment in a 6 block pedestrian only roadway. See the world’s largest digital screen display in 16.4 million brilliant pixels, 1,375 ft long, 90 ft wide, suspended 90 ft above the street, showcasing flashy and elaborate lights and visuals. Take your experience to the next level and go for an exhilarating ride at the Slotzilla zip line suspended right beneath the giant screen that lets you soar up to 114 ft high, while enjoying an overview of the whole Freemont action.

For first time visitors wanting to enjoy the views of the city without worrying about driving and parking, go for a hop-on, hop-off bus tour which you can take at your own pace. These double decker bus tours will bring you to famous landmarks and attractions and are usually accompanied by recorded audio narrations that are not only informative but entertaining as well.

If you have extra time, why not take a detour and visit one of the great wonders of the world – The Grand Canyon, located just a few driving hours from Vegas. You can do the driving yourself which gives you more flexibility and enough time to explore. But your best option, is to book a bus tour that picks up from most major hotels. These round trip tours in air-conditioned coach usually include lunch, snacks, drinks and a bonus stop at the Hoover Dam for a nice photo op. The Grand Canyon is divided into three areas, the South Rim, the North Rim and the West Rim. Depending on which area you choose, it may take about 3 to 5 hours, but it’s one joyride definitely worth considering.

Whatever you choose to do during your visit, be sure to have a wonderful time and don’t forget to take a selfie at the iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign.
